After nearly ten years I was back in London last week. The ‘Shard’, with over 300 meters the tallest building in the European Union, stood out as one of the novelties. Sketched on the back of a menu in a restaurant, architect Renzo Piano’ s first design of the building was reminiscent of an iceberg, according to Wikipedia. If I look at the building now, I always keep in mind that the building is made of ice and that nineteenth is located below the surface.
