Rob van Doeselaar

After his education at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Rob van Doeselaar makes paintings in Amsterdam, New Delhi, New York, Dakar, Accra, Bamako, Maputo en The Hague. In every city he introduces new themes and a different perspective. Experiment in color and material use remains a constant factor in his work. Look at his website.

Since 2012 he regularly publishes on this blog. At the start he shows scanned ink drawings of daily impressions, often accompanied by a few lines of text. Then Rob switches to the iPad. He continues doing the sketches in black and white. After this period color is introduced, which means that the series increasingly becomes a search for new expression, benefitting from the technique’s typical characteristics.

Knowledge and experience with lithography and woodcut form an important basis for his series of sketches on an iPad.

The sketches can be printed in high quality in small to large size. They can be ordered. If you are interested, please inquire via robvandoeselaar@me.com.
