I made this iPad portrait a few months after Trump announced candidacy for the presidency of the United States of America. I could not imagine that many people would vote for him. I saw a television interview in which he did not substantiate his opinions with any argument. He based his feelings on world politics, in his own words, mainly on the information he received from television.
I had known his artificial hairstyle for a long time. But during that television interview I noticed for the first time that the orange color of his face becomes paler around his eyes. You would think it is caused by wearing a protection cover for his eyes at the solarium or in the spray tan booth. However, there are rumors in the White House that the President is not doing anything about his skin color. It is all genetically determined.
This portrait will be on display in the Haagse Kunstkring as part of a member presentation with the theme Portrait. The opening is on April 6 at 4 p.m. Everybody is welcome.
While moving from Maputo to Geneva these months, I participate in the anniversary exhibition of AGA LAB, the former Amsterdam Graphic Studio, where I printed many lithographs from 1983 to 1990. Now my iPad sketches are printed there in the highest quality and exactly as I want it. Nearly 100 artists participate. I show a print of one of the iPad sketches from my paradise, from the African Kikuyu grass. Tonight is the opening.
Exhibition AGA LAB 60 years.
