His entire life Ulrich Mikloweit is cutting and pasting objects from typewriter paper. Inspired by M. C. Escher’s graphic prints he creates a garden of polyhedra. You can look through the objects and be surprised of what you discover inside. 6 Würfel, 36 Quadrate is a game of 6 hexagons (cubes) engaged in one another. I really like the shadow on the wall.
You can see Ulrich’s polyhedra in Gallery Beeld & Aambeeld. The show runs until July 31. It is part of a series of exhibitions of ‘Bridges 2013’ in Enschede. I show my work in the Performance Factory, which is also part of the project.
Reporters wearing a bulletproof vest and a military helmet on their head, frequently appear on television. In the middle of a war they bring us live breaking news. These kinds of scenes are fascinating. So much, that I often forget about which war they are talking.
From the time God used his forefinger for bringing Adam to life, who as the first man imagined that the world was a flat paradise, we are now approaching the probable beginning of the universe and look at the image when it was only 500 million years young.
